Have been back to visit Ballyhalbert 2008 and 2009. My friends and I have so many great memories of this lovely village.

As teenagers, during the '60s' we would go to the Saturday night dance at the (I think) Locarno Dance Hall in Portaferry. Such fun coming home by local bus! Hilarious!!!!!!!!

Regards from Canada.

As a family, my parents and myself and friends, were 'semi' residents at Ballyhalbert from the early 60's.

I came to Canada 1967 and married my husband 1968. My parents came to Canada 1973 just before our daughter was born.

I will always remember the good times and the friendship we had with
everyone while living along Harbour Road, #37.

My husband and I have been back to visit 2008 and 2009.

Ballybert, I (we) will always love you!

Thank you for such happy memories.

D.

Unfortunately I was not able to bring my husband back to my homeland until 2008.

My great grandparents were born and raised in Ballyhalbert. I never knew them and I am happy to know that their home town still exists. I hope one day to visit, and to learn if any of my Beggs, and Lemon relatives still live there. From the pictures, Ballyhalbert looks like a lovely and friendly place.

My great grandfather William Filson was the head of the Orange Order in the 1920s. We just visited the area in March for the first time and were able to get into the hall. It was such an amazing experience. Ballyhalbert is a beautiful town and I hope to return very soon.
